Prior to becoming a renowned superstar, Adekunle Gold was born Omoba Adekunle Kosoko. He was born into a royal family in Lagos state, Nigeria.
Gold had a flair for music from a tender age, but also possessed artistic propensities, he could draw, paint and was a skillful designer.
He studied Arts and Designs from the prestigious institution, Lagos State Polytechnic. According to Adekunle, he never took interest in sculpting but he remained an extraordinary Artist.

After graduating from Lagos state Polytechnic in 2009, he became Olamide’s graphic designer. He worked on the singer’s early album cover and art direction.
Aside from Adekunle Gold’s photo editing and art skills, Olamide would notice the youngster’s music talent. This subsequently led him to getting signed with Olamide’s record label, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL).
Gold would eventually gain modest popularity when he released ‘Sade’ in 2014. The song was a cover of One Direction’s ‘story of my life.’ He would further go on to release massive hits such as ‘Orente’, ‘Pick up’ and ‘Friend zone’.
He has since released two studio albums, Gold in 2016 and About 30 in 2018. Both albums received positive remarks from the audience. The singer has been praised for his exceptional contribution to the music industry.
