We are still in the month of national celebration, the period of independence, progress and transformation. Our man crush Monday for the week is our honorable President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR (General Commandant of the Federal Republic).
The political disciplinarian was born in Daura, Katsina state in 1942 and he was the 23rd child of his father. He joined the military in 1961 when he was only 19, he worked strenuously and participated actively during the Nigerian civil war or the Biafran war which occurred from 6 July 1967- 15 January 1970.
Prior to becoming the civilian President in 2015, Buhari served as a military head of state from December 1983 when he overthrew the civilian rule of then-President Shehu Shagari and his tenure ended on 27 August 1985. In 2015, he was elected as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He is happily married to Aisha Buhari and they both have five children. He is a recipient of several accolades and he is renowned for his disciplinary and stern personality, he is the leader for the people, in his words during the 2015 election campaign, he said
“I am for everybody and I am for nobody.”
