Our Man Crush Monday for this week is great Nigerian footballer Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins. One of the most talented athletes in the history of the sport.
Obafemi celebrated his 34th birthday anniversary yesterday, October 28th and he is one of the footballers worth admiration because of his pace, skills and goal scoring prowess.
Obafemi first represented Nigeria at the 2006 African cup of Nations where he scored two goals and Nigeria finished in 3rd position. The super forward has since bagged 18 international goals in 42 senior appearances.
A fast, diminutive, left-footed forward, Obafemi has played in numerous top flight clubs in the world. He commenced his professional club career with Inter Milan in 2002 when he was only 18, he left the club in 2006 after winning a Seria A title.
Obafemi has since played with Newcastle United (England), Wolfsburg (Germany), Rubin Kazan (Russia), Birmingham (England), Levante (Spain), Seattle Sounders FC (USA) and most recently Shanghai Shenhua (China), Obafemi has inspired each club to win at least a title. Levante was the only club that he failed to win a local title with, however he scored a handful of goals at the club.
Obafemi is also happily to Abigail Barwauh, the sister of Mario Balotelli. The couple has a son named Kendrick, he was born in 2013. However, Obafemi has two other sons from his previous relationship, their names are Tyler and Kelvin Martins.
Obagoal as he is renowned worldwide would be remembered for his acrobatic goal celebrations, he is indeed a great joy to watch and we wish him more goals to his golden career.
