Hurricane Carlos is forecast to strike Mexico as a tropical storm at about 06:00 GMT on 17 June. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall will be near 18.5 N, 105.3 W. Carlos is expected to bring 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 111 km/h (69 mph). Wind gusts in the area may be considerably higher.
