President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday vowed to ensure members of the Boko Haram sect are made to pay for the havoc they have wrecked on the country, thereby foreclosing a possibility for amnesty for the insurgents.
The President stated this during the 4th annual presidential breakfast prayer at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.
“No matter what government does, we cannot recover the dead, but our promise is that all those who took part in that will pay dearly for it,” he said.
The President added that yesterday’s prayer session was dedicated to the victims of Boko Haram attacks and their respective families.
“Today our prayers are with the victims of Boko Haram, their families and loved ones. The last tragedy of these heinous ideology occurred while we were preparing to mark the resurrection of our Lord at Easter, bringing sorrow to many families,” he said.
