The Ministry of Education has claimed that it is yet to pay polytechnic lecturers in the country because of lack of funds. It said this yesterday through the Permanent Secretary, Mc-John Nwaobiala.
Nwaobiala made the claim during a meeting with the House of Representatives Committee on Education to resolve the ten-month-old ASUP strike yesterday.
The permanent secretary said the ministry, however, planned to make a request for special funds from the presidency to be able to take care of the about two years’ arrears of the lecturers.
