During an interview with Pulse TV, Nigerian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brymo claimed that no Nigerian singer writes quality music like him.
Olawale Ashimi, better known by his stage name Brymo commenced his music career in 1999 but officially signed a record deal in 2010 with Chocolate City, he would breach his label in 2013 and it would inevitably lead to his departure.
Brymo has released six studio albums and one compilation, he is renowned for his thoughtful lyricism and allusions to political power, culture and self-introspection. Brymo gained prominence in the music industry when he collaborated with Chocolate city label mate Ice Prince on the hit single ‘Oleku’ in 2011, he would release his own hit singles ‘Ara’ and ‘Good morning’.
He mentioned it blatantly that nobody in the industry writes entertaining and meaningful contents like himself, nonetheless he further said that “there is a chance that other singers in the near future can do something more exceptional or even be greater than him.”
