Nigeria sprints queen Blessing Okagbare on Friday clocked a season best of 10.90secs as she finished second in the women’s 100m at the Doha Diamond League behind Ivory Coast’s Marie Josee Ta Lou.
The women’s 100m field at the event could be likened to an Olympic final as the race lived up to expectations. Ta Lou took the day with a world lead and personal best of 10.85secs – dropping 0.01secs from her former PB. Having clocked a wind-aided time of 10.72secs earlier this season, Okagbare finished second while double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson of Jamaica placed third in 10.93secs. Read more
