Warri born singer Okiemute Ighorodje wins MTN project fame season 9

Warri born singer, Okiemute Ighorodje was crowned winner of the MTN Project Fame season 9.

25-year-old Okiemute was born in Delta state and grew up in Delta Steel Company (DSC) housing estate. She attended Field Crest academy for her secondary education before moving on to the University of Port Harcourt where she studied Linguistics and Mass Communication.

Okiemute has always been a passionate singer. The beautiful singer dabbled in modelling for a while before she decided to take her singing serious and became the lead singer for a band in Port Harcourt.

Okiemute’s own composition ‘Iya mi’ which she performed towards the end of the show moved both the academy and judges to tears.  One of the judges, Praiz, said ‘Okiemute, some people are made stars but you were born a star’

The bubbly singer who was rejected by The Voice Nigeria, went home with N5 million, a brand new car and a huge music contract.
