It’s less than 24 hours to the official opening ceremony of the 2016 Ake Arts and Books Festival!
Meet one of the guests of the festival, Oris Aigbokhaevbolo. Oris is a Nigerian writer and critic. He grew up across 4 different cities in Nigeria- Edo, Niger, Lagos, and Kogi states.
He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, and has attended academies for film criticism in Germany, South Africa and the Netherlands.
In 2015, Oris mentored film critics at the Durban International Film Festival. In the same year, he became the first winner of the All Africa Music Awards prize for Music Journalism. He is a film critic at This is Africa. His work has appeared in reputable magazines and online newspapers such as Chimurenga, BellaNaija, The Africa Report and the Guardian UK.
At the festival, Oris will be Moderating a panel titled Exhuming the Author: How the Media Approaches new writing with Kola Tobosun, Murua and Anote Ajeluorou. This promises to be a fire panel. You don’t want to miss out.
