The Managing Director of Katsina State Road Management Agency, Abdul Azeez Mohammed, on Tuesday, revealed that when he assumed duty last year, he discovered that a sum of N14.2bn belonging to the agency had either been pilfered, stolen or missing.
He told the Katsina Commission of Inquiry probing the immediate past administration of former Governor Ibrahim Sheu Shema at its resumption of sitting, that he had necessary details to substantiate his claim. Hearing on the memo detailing past government officials allegedly involved in the missing fund, and the details of how the money was allegedly withdrawn have however been adjourned till October 26, 2016 at the instance of the Commission of Inquiry.
The Commission’s lead counsel, Hassan Liman (SAN) had sought for the adjournment of full hearing on Mohammed’s memo till 26/10/16, the request not objected to by other counsel and which the chairman, Justice Muhammed Sirajo, consented to. In another development, the police ADC to former Governor Sheu Shema, DSP Sheu Mohammed Kokoh, testified before the commission on Tuesday, denying all the allegations leveled against him. Read more
