Microsoft Co-founder Paul Allen Dies Of Cancer At 65

Paul Allen, who co-founded Microsoft with his childhood friend Bill Gates before becoming a billionaire philanthropist, has died at the age of 65.

His death was announced by his company Vulcan last night.

Mr Allen, earlier this month had announced that the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer, he was treated for in 2009 had returned. He said he planned to fight it aggressively.

Jodi Allen said about him in a statement, “While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend.”
