People who actually suffer from migraines are fighting back against the migraine pose trend (Metro)

All over Instagram celebs and influencers are doing what makeup artist Nam Vo describes as the ‘migraine pose’. The trend relies on putting your hand on your head and lightly pulling at your temples to tighten the skin and lift the brows. The pose itself is super flattering, but the name has been called out for misrepresenting the reality of suffering from migraines. Migraines are not just headaches, and sufferers don’t tend to sit around looking glam with their hands resting on their heads. Migraines can cause intense nausea and vomiting, slurred speech, fatigue, visual disturbances, intense sensitivity to sunlight, stroke-like symptoms, and fainting spells. Migraines can be debilitating. In response to the trend, many of those who experience migraines have been sharing their own versions of #migrainepose photos on Instagram, showing the reality of how migraines affect them.
