Queen Amina of Zazzau comes to stage in Abuja

The Jos Repertory Theatre presents a production of Wale Ogunyemi’s Queen Amina of Zazzau, which tells the story of the legendary Queen Amina of Zazzau in what is presently known as Zaria.

According to oral tradition, Queen Amina started ruling Zazzau between 1588A.D. and 1622 AD. She reigned for thirty four years. She was the daughter of Bakwa Turunku who founded the Zazzau Kingdom in 1536.


Queen Amina of Zazzau is directed by Patrick-Jude Oteh.

The play will open at Sheraton Hotels, Abuja on Friday 13th November at 4pm and 6pm.
