Actor Ramsey Nouah is producing a film which will soon be released. The actor famous for his heart throb roles in the over 20 years he has been in the Nigerian film industry called Nollywood, informed www.sabinews.com in an exclusive interview.
“I am working on some at the moment, I have short films here. Yes, I have but it is not yet out. It is not a commercial (film),” he said.
Responding to why actors evolve into producing or directing films he said it is because they are not well remunerated for interpreting movie roles in the country.
“Everything is just a one-off thing, there is no royalty and Nigeria is a cash-and-carry society. Whatever I get from a one-off is all gone, I need to continue, keep working. What does that do to me if you factor what we call the law of diminishing returns? When I start to wither off, what next? What foundation have I laid for my future with this stardom? So, most of them want to go into producing to see that they can have something that keeps coming, and it is not a total loss for them,” Ramsey Nouah, who said Nollywood has come of age, explained.
