The spokesperson for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos, Joe Igbokwe, said the reason the governorship primary was postponed until Monday is because members have to go to church on Sunday.
Igbokwe said, “People have to be in church on Sunday, so we have rescheduled until Monday unfailingly.
“There are other issues around logistics, but everything would be done by Monday”.
The APC on Saturday postponed the governorship primaries for Lagos and Imo States.
This declaration comes amidst a tense standoff for the governorship ticket between the incumbent, Akinwunmi Ambode and Jide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu reportedly received the support of 36 out of the state’s 40 lawmakers with another challenger, Babatunde Hamzat also stepping down for him.
