My stage name is Bara.Tone or Bara da rymstar.

Tell us a bit about your background?

Well, my background. I’m the first son and second child among four siblings. My dad is a retired Air Force officer and my mum is a trained school teacher and fashion designer. Due to the nature of my dad’s job I never really settled down in one state for more than 4-5 years growing up. I was born in Kaduna, moved to Makurdi (Benue state) then Port Harcourt, Warri, Lagos and several other states.

When did you begin your music career?

I began my music career during my secondary school days in 2004. I remember making my first demo on an R. Kelly beat and it was recorded on a cassette tape.

What was the reaction/feedback from those around you (friends/family)?

I took my tape to school with a Walkman and my friends took turns to jam up to it. That was when I realized that I had something special because they all seemed to love it. Everybody loves my music.

What Inspires your musical style?

My style is influenced by the genre of music I listen to and the artistes and that’s basically a mix of Rap, Hip-hop, RnB and Reggae.

Who is your favorite artist now and why?

My favorite artistes are the ones that have influenced. They are mainly Nate Dogg (of blessed memory), Warren G, Snoop Dogg, Bob Marley, Tupac and more recently Drake and Frank Ocean.

What Genre of music would you brand your musical style?

I’ll brand my musical style experimental because it is a mix of everything.

What are your upcoming projects?

I’m working on an EP that drops on my birthday November 4th this year, it will be titled the Color Blind ep. It would contain 5 soulful tracks and would also include several bonus songs I had recorded previously.

Which artiste in the industry would you like to work with?

I’d like to work with Burna Boy, I really admire his style of music and I think he is super talented.

What are your future plans?

My future plans in my music career is to eventually drop my debut album and the commencement of that project depends on the kind of reception my EP gets in November. Thank you very much.
