$2.1bn scandal: Jonathan preparing for his own defence- CACOL
The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders has said the comments of former President Jonathan about the allegations against his former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), was a way of preparing for his own defence when he was eventually called to question.
Jonathan had expressed disbelief against the allegation against Dasuki while giving a lecture at the Oxford Union in the United Kingdom. Read more
Presidency seeks N180b to fund NYSC, others
President Buhari has asked the National Assembly to approve virement of N180 billion from N500 billion appropriated for the Special Intervention Programme, to finance key projects.
In a letter to senators at the commencement of yesterday’s plenary, the projects to be financed included the amnesty initiative, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and the Public Service Wage Adjustment (PSWA). Read more
FG to spend N30bn to develop agro-industrial hub – Ogbeh
The Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said that the Federal Government will spend N30 billion to develop the biggest agro-industrial hub in West Africa.
Ogbeh made the statement on Tuesday when he visited the 15,000 hectares of land to be used for the hub in Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory. Read more
NAF to Build New Base in Katsina
The Nigerian Air Force says it will establish an operational base in Katsina State to effectively tackle security challenge in the Northwest part of the country.
Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, disclosed this at the opening of 8th Air Force Games in Katsina on Monday. Read more
Rumors of Fuel Price Increase
Mr. Mele Kyari, the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said the company is subsidizing the consumption of fuel at N145.
Kyari spoke at the 10th Oil Trading and Logistics Africa Downstream Week in Lagos, where he also said it was impossible to import products at the current market price, at current fixed foreign exchange rate and recovered one’s money. Read more
Information Portal For Nigerians At Home and In Diaspora
The Federal Government will soon launch an Information Portal to keep Nigerians at home and in the diaspora abreast of government’s programmes and policies and also get their feedback.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in Abuja on Tuesday when he received the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diapora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on a courtesy visit to his office. Read more

The Federal Government has stressed that a Year of Action is insufficient to tackle the menace of Violence against Children (VAC) in the country and to commemorate the Presidential Year of Action, President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) campaign to end VAC by 2030. Man arraigned for beating up policeman
A 30-year-old man, Tunde Ajani, who allegedly beat up a policeman, was on Wednesday brought before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Ajani, a resident of Ajegunle area of Apapa, is facing two charges of breach of the peace and assault. Read more
DPC mobilises members for Ondo gov election
The Democratic Peoples Congress says it has started mobilising its members for the victory of its candidate, Dr Adeeyo Mathew, in the Nov.26 Governorship Election in Ondo State.

FG rejects U.S report on child labour
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, has rejected the report of United States Department of Labour that blacklisted the nation as “engaging in Child soldiering” due to Boko Haram activities in the country.
Ngige made the country’s position known when he received representatives of the department led by Mr. Marlin Hardinger in his office, the Deputy Director (Press) in the ministry, Mr. Samuel Olowookere, said in a statement on Tuesday. Read more
Toyota recalls 5.8m cars over faulty airbags
Toyota Motor Corp on Wednesday said it was recalling about 5.8 million cars at home and abroad over potentially faulty air bag inflators made by Takata Corp.
The company said in a statement in Tokyo, that the recalled cars included those used as replacement parts following a 2010 recall. Read more
