Buhari Will Do Everything To Make Nigeria Great – Osinbajo
President Muhammadu Buhari is ready to put everything on the line to make sure Nigeria is great and he has no other objective other than seeing this dream come true, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.
“This morning, I had a meeting with the President and he repeated to me twice, he said ‘at my age there is only one thing I am looking for, I want to see a great Nigeria’. He has no other objective and I feel very inspired by that,” Prof Osinbajo stated. Read more
British Airways to scrap free meals
British Airways is scrapping free meals for short-haul economy fares from next year and inviting passengers to instead pay for Marks and Spencer sandwiches, creating a stir on social media.
The pair announced the tie-up on Thursday, which sees BA joining the no-frills airline model of charging passengers for food and drink. Read more
President Buhari Congratulates Obaseki, Oshiomhole On Victory At the Polls
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja congratulated the government and people of Edo State on the successful conclusion of the gubernatorial election, and the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki at the polls.
In a telephone call to Governor Adams Oshomole, President Buhari commended the well-articulated campaign programme of the APC in the state, the doggedness of the governor, governor-elect and party members in going round the state to reach the people with records of good governance over the years and a promise of continuity. Rape Suspect Attempts Suicide In Court
There was mild drama at the Rivers State judiciary complex yesterday, after a 38-year-old man, Ibinabo Franklyn, who is being accused of raping his 17-year-old daughter, attempted to kill himself.
The Chief Magistrate, F.N. Amanze, Esq, had ordered that the accused person be remanded in the Port Harcourt Maximum Security Prison custody and referred the case file to the director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for advice, adjourning the matter to December 23, 2016 for mention. Read more

Woman kidnaps sister’s daughter over N30,000
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a Ghanaian, Enyolam Believe, for allegedly kidnapping her niece in the Ikotun area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Believe, who had been living in Lagos for the past 17 years, conspired with her friend, Agatha Aigbomiam, to commit the crime last Tuesday. Read more
Man batters wife over missing N2,000
The police in Lagos State have launched a manhunt for a resident of Azeez Olaosebikan Street, Agege, Babatunde Igbara, after he allegedly battered his wife’s eyes.
The man reportedly rained punches on the 38-year-old woman, Gbemisola Igbara, in the presence of their four children until her eyes became swollen. Read more
Hoodlums stab task force officials over seized motorcycles
The Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit says two of its officials, Mr. Ogbonna Bernard and Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf have been attacked by commercial motorcyclists and miscreants in the Oyingbo area of the state.
The officials, who are attached to the agency’s Bus Rapid Transit monitoring team led by one ASP Abutu Anthony, were said to have raided the area on Wednesday and seized motorcycles from errant okada riders. Read more
Edo election: Oshiomhole sold Obaseki to Edo people, says Saraki
President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, has congratulated the Governor-elect of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, on his victory in the Wednesday governorship election.

Court Convicts A Polish Woman For Issuing A Dud Cheque
Justice Abubakar Umar of the FCT High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja on Thursday, September 29, 2016, convicted one Dora Gilmaska, a pole, alongside her company, Icon Media and Marketing Agency Limited, on one-count charge of fraud brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Gilmaska was found guilty of forging and issuing a dud cheque of N9million to one Tayo Olugbemi sometime in 2012. Read more

The Imo State sports commissioner Rodney Ajaelu has explained why Rio 2016 Paralympic Games gold medallist Lauritta Onye was not among athletes rewarded by the state last week.
Governor Rochas Okorocha gave N1m and car gifts to three powerlifters from the state namely Roland Ezeruike, Ndidi Nwosu and Josephine Orji, who all won gold medals in Rio. Read more
