SEC: Labour backs Gwarzo’s suspension (New Telegraph)

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has commended the Federal Government for its timely intervention in the Securities and Exchange (SEC) by suspending Ita DG, Mr. Mounir Gwarzo, saying that the suspension was long overdue.
ASCSN in a statement made available to New Telegraph yesterday, said the association is in full support of the suspension of Gwarzo on the allegations of corruption, noting that this is important to enable the administrative panel of inquiry investigate and determine the culpability of Gwarzo and his cohorts.
“The capital market, as we are all aware, is very sensitive and strives on integrity. As the DG of the apex regulator of the Nigeria capital market, who currently has several corruption allegations levied against him, it is extremely important that he clears his name from these allegations for the purpose of integrity in the capital market,” the association said.
