The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress. The senator, in a letter dated October 19 and addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Ward 6, Tundun Wada North, Kaduna, and copied the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, did not give reasons for his action. The letter reads, “I present to you highest compliments and wish by this communication to formally offer to you my resignation from the All Progressives Congress.

Military Plans Another Python Dance As Kanu Speaks Today

The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, said on Saturday that the military would conduct another round of Operation Python Dance in the South-East, since there were clearer indications that the founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has resurfaced from his hideout. The military authorities also said the court would take necessary steps to continue his prosecution. The Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen John Agim, who stated this in an interview added that the sudden appearance of Kanu in public, has proved that the military did not manhandle or assault him as was being widely alleged.

A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has retrieved his passports from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The All Progressives Congress realised N12.635bn from the sale of its Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives expression of interest and nomination forms for the recently concluded APC primaries held across the country. They arrived at the figures after computing the cost of the forms and multiplying it by the number of aspirants who paid for and collected same to participate in the primaries. Only President Muhammadu Buhari was supported to collect the forms to contest the presidential primary. The president’s supporters were said to have paid N45m to obtain the forms on his behalf.

King Of Tory Island Dies Aged 74

The King of Tory Island, Patsy Dan Rodgers, has died at the age of 74. The artist and musician was the island’s best known resident and campaigned against government plans to resettle the islanders on Donegal’s mainland following storms in 1974. Mr Rodgers had lived on the 5km-long and 1km-wide island off the coast of County Donegal from the age of four. He was elected king in 1993 by his fellow islanders.
