Senator Shehu Sani has assured his supporters that his political ambition for 2019 remains valid despite being without any party ticket and his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Kaduna Central Senator declared he will announce his new party within the next two days.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the APC, Sani explained why he left the party. The reason given was the party lacks honour, integrity and internal democracy.
Sani was expected to have defected alongside former APC Senators in July to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), being a critic of the Buhari-led administration.
He, however, stayed with a reported arrangement that he would be given his senatorial ticket in the next election but his Governor’s preferred candidate was chosen over him.
Responding to the new development he stated he would reveal his new party in the next two days.
He made this known in a tweet on Sunday.
He said: “This is to thank all my supporters and friends for the show of solidarity and assurances of support over my decision to exit the APC. I assure you that in the next two days you will be informed of my new party. And be rest assured I will contest in the upcoming elections, Insha Allah”.
