The founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has been slammed with a N2 billion libel suit by the founder of the Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries (MFM), Olukoya D. K., on Thursday.
The suit filed before the High Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, listed Sahara Reporters Incorporation and Objective Media Group Limited as the 2nd and 3rd defendants respectively.
In the suit, Olukoya accused Sowore of defaming his person through his provocative publications which led to the lawsuit on the grounds of alleged aggravated libel.
The MFM founder also implored the court to mandate Sowore to pull down the defamatory articles from the internet.
Olukoya also wants the defendants to tender a written apology and retraction published on Sahara Reporters online media, on Facebook and in at least three national newspapers and two international publications, including TIME International.
The clergyman also implored the court to issue an order of perpetual injunction preventing the defendants or any associates of the defendants from putting up further libellous statements against the claimants.
