Strike: OAU Shut (Independent)

Following the strike action by the Non-Academic Staff Unions of Universities, NASU, the management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife has declared an end of the year break.

The university asked the entire students of the university to vacate the campus latest 4pm Wednesday 6 December 2017.

It would be recalled that Non -Teaching Staff, which comprises Non Academic Staff Union (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), had declared strike action in the universities across the country.

The strike action has resulted in unpalatable situation in most campuses especially at OAU, Ile Ife, where students have been denied water and electricity supply since the strike started. Read more
