Sympathisers shocked as Ayefele’s N800m music house is pulled down

Sympathisers in their hundreds were on Sunday held in disbelief as the Oyo State Government made good its plan to demolish an Ibadan-based radio station, Fresh FM owned by veteran musician, Yinka Ayefele. Sunday Vanguard gathered that The demolition exercise began a few minutes past 6’o clock in the early hours of Sunday. The state government had, last week, issued a demolition notice to the management of the station which has been a subject of controversy in recent times, but Ayefele said it was politically motivated. Read more

Popular musician, Yinka Ayefele, has reacted to the demolition of a part of his Music House building, located around Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Sunday. The Music House, which houses the musician’s popular radio station, Fresh FM, was demolished in the early hours of Sunday. The location of the building has generated controversies in recent weeks, with the Oyo State Government alleging that it contravenes urban and physical planning laws of the state. Read more

Tanker accident: FRSC cautions motorists on Lagos-Ibadan expressway (Punch)

The Federal Road Safety Commission  has advised motorists travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to be cautious following an accident on the long bridge inward Lagos State. Mr Hyginus Omeje, the  Lagos State Sector Commander of FRSC, told the News Agency of Nigeriathat the accident occurred at 5:56 am on Sunday. He said : ” The vehicular movement on Lagos -Ibadan Expressway inward Ibadan is currently diverted at Opic to share the road with vehicles moving inward Lagos due to a crash involving a petrol tanker which split its content on the road. Sallah: Ram dealers lament low patronage (PremiumTimes)

Some cattle dealers in Kano who had stocked domestic animals such as goats, rams and cows for sale ahead of Sallah, are complaining of low patronage. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Garba Ahiya has won Saturday’s Takum 1 state constituency by-election into Taraba House of Assembly.
