Terror threat: Cameroon cancels African financial forum

The Government of Cameroon today cancelled the Regional Conference for the Budget of Central Africa, because of a possible terrorist attack in the capital, reported the Ministry of Finance Wednesday.

“The Forum was planned for the capital’s Hilton Hotel, but intelligence sources warned that the Islamic Boko Haram group planned an attack on that place, and we have not set a new date, said the Director of Communications, Gedeón Adjomo.

Local security forces intensified surveillance since last week, after a warning from the Government about possible attacks in two major cities, Yaoundé and Douala. Read more
