Thunder kills College of Education worker in Kwara (Guardian)

An administrative worker at the College of Education, Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Mr. Kunle Salami, was reportedly struck dead by thunder yesterday at the football field of the school during a prolonged rain that started at dawn, lasting nine hours.

Salami was said to have assisted a car owner, who is also an employee of the institution, to drive his vehicle from Ilorin, the state capital, to Oro, some 60km apart, before the tragic incident happened around 10:00a.m.

According to sources, “immediately he pulled up the car, he started trekking to his office in company of two others when the thunder struck him, lifted him up from the ground, smashed him on the ground and tore his jeans cloth into shreds.” Read more
