Two Nigerian Airforce Jets Crash In Abuja

While they were rehearsing ahead of October 1st Independence day celebration in Abuja, two jets belonging to the Nigerian Air Force have crashed. The accident happened when the aircrafts were carrying out their daily rehearsal ahead of their display during Nigeria’s 58th independence anniversary on October 1.

It has been reported that the two pilots lost their lives.

Confirming the incident, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said in a statement, “I wish to confirm an air incident involving 2 Nigerian Air Force aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day Celebrations. Thankfully no lives were lost.”

The number of people injured in the incident could not be ascertained as of the time of this report, as efforts were still ongoing by the military to attend to the situation.
