That James Ibori, former governor of Delta state and returned home yesterday after serving his jail term in the UK is no longer news.
Ibori who flew into the Benin airport was received by a mammoth crowd. The crowd that thronged the airport and which accompanied him home to Oghara would have been double had he not accepted counsel from the security services and played a fast one on his supporters.
According to a close associate who spoke to sabinews “People were deceived into thinking he was landing at Osubi airport in Warri but he landed in Benin. The crowd would have been uncontrollable. Security operatives had advised that decorum should be observed and it was.”
Despite selling them a dummy, Ibori was still welcomed home by a huge and enthusiastic crowd of supporters and kinsmen many of them jostling to shake his hands and embrace him.
