…SAYS VANS SUSPECTED OF CONVEYING SECURITY THREAT MATERIALS
The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has clarified that the commenced search on newspaper vans yesterday, were not calculated to confiscate critical newspapers in the country.
The DHQ in a statement in Abuja, through its Director of Defence Information, DDI, Major General Chris Olukolade, explained that intelligence report had indicated that newspaper vans were currently being used to convey security threat materials across the country.
In the statement, the DHQ said, ‘Troops this morning embarked on thorough search of vehicles conveying newspapers and newsprints across board. This followed intelligence report indicating movement of materials with grave security implications across the country using the channel of newsprint related consignments.
