Our Woman Crush Wednesday for today is the creative Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade, she gained prominence in 2013 when she released the single “Johnny.”

Born Yemi Eberechi Alade in Abia state to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother, this influenced her pseudonym “Yoruba-Igbo” girl. She is the fifth of seven children and she commenced her music career in 2005 with the girl power group known as “Noty Spice.”
In 2009, Yemi won the Peak talent show which made her gain modest notoriety. She also released her debut single titled ‘fimile’ around this period, Yemi graduated from the prestigious Nigerian institution University of Lagos where she studied Geography.
She has released three successful studio albums, they include King of Queens (2014), Mama Africa (2016) and Black Magic (2017). Yemi is renowned for her energetic live performance and elaborate music videos, she is one of the most beautiful Nigerian songstress and she is also fashionable and unapologetically stylish especially when she rocks those traditional African hairstyle.
Yemi has won the Best female act twice at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2015 and 2016 respectively. She is our woman crush for this week because she is beautiful, hardworking, focused and most importantly very successful.
